Welcome to the Martins class

Our current topic is Ancient Rome; we have been having lots of fun in class exploring different artefacts and thinking about what we want to find out about The Romans!

In literacy, we have been looking at Charlie and The Chocolate Factory which has lead us to design our own sweets. We have had the chance to mould chocolate, create packaging and make adverts for our sweet, exploring the kinds of adjectives that Roald Dahl used to describe Mr Wonka’s inventions.

We have also been thinking about healthy diets and our amazing bodies in science. I hope to keep our webpage up to date with some of the things we do in class!

I would like to remind everyone that P.E will be every Monday afternoon – please could P.E kits remain in school. Homework will be set on a Thursday and collected on Wednesday. Weekly spelling and times tables will be tested on Friday and will be given as part of the previous weeks homework. I would also like to ask that reading records be bought into school every day to ensure that we can keep them up to date with the reading we do in class. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Mr Mankelow
