Our Sports Council have already been busy making signs for the playground, interviewing people who have competed in competitions, organised a rota for the playground equipment trolley and have started up a twice weekly playtime sports club for Year One.

We would love more photo’s of your children’s sporting achievements outside school for the achievers board. Please ensure children have named, jogging bottoms and spare socks for PE.

Kent College Junior & infant Cross Country, Saturday 12th January 2019
Wow! What a wonderfully sporty start to the year! We had a record 24 children attending the Kent College cross country on Saturday 12th January.
Mrs Cooper, Mrs Talbot and myself, were lucky enough to witness some brilliant performances from our children with one of our Year ¾ teams coming 3rd and one of our Year 5/6 teams coming 4th!
I was also particularly pleased to see so many first timers! From pre-school all the way to the top of the school, WELL DONE everyone!
The next Kent College Cross Country is on Saturday 9th February. Let’s see if we can break our new record of attendees! Everyone is welcome!
Daily Mile Winners!
To encourage our children to become even more active there will now be a termly award for the class that completes the most Daily Miles!
I’m pleased to announce that the class that completed the most Daily Miles in term 2 was the HERONS!!! They were awarded the treat of an extra playtime as their reward!
Let’s see which class wins for this term by getting out and completing the most Daily Miles!
Sports Council Weekly Award
Our amazing Sports Council have decided to give out a weekly certificate for children attending the Year One Sports Club which takes place every Thursday and Friday playtime. The certificates are given out in Fridays Celebration Assembly and are awarded for skill, sportsmanship, kindness to others and listening skills.
You should be very proud if your child brings home a small green certificate on a Friday!

Thursday Morning Running Club
The club is running again this term 8-8:30am (parents must stay or arrange for their child to be taken to school by another parent).

Playtime Sports Club
We are hoping to extend our Sports Council run playtime Sports Club to 2 days a week so that Wrens can also benefit from a more active playtime!
